This will reveal a copy of the <\/span>Conservation Area Character Appraisal <\/i>that was carried out in 2019 and approved by the District Council later in that year. The revised Conservation Area Boundary included in this document is now the Statutory Boundary of the Conservation Area. The map in this document is not that easy to read so we have used a better one from the earlier version which is still correct.<\/span><\/p>

If you are interested in the history of the old part of the village the Bretforton Conservation Area Character Appraisal <\/b>is well worth reading.<\/p>

Below is a map of the Conservation Area <\/b>and the first thing you notice is how many green areas are included. These areas have some additional protection under the SWDP Open Space Policy. <\/i>The Conservation Area boundary now runs along New Street\/Station Road with some deviations and then across the back of The Grange and Theatre Barn to Main Street, along the brook on the south side and round the farmhouses on the east side to Weston Road\/New Street again.<\/p>

If you own a property in the village it is important to know if it is in the Conservation Area not only because in any planning application you make needs to include a detailed \u2018Statement of Significance\u2019 <\/i>detailing the impact your proposal will have on its surroundings and any Listed Buildings, but also because certain works such as the demolition of walls, outbuildings etc. and work to\/removal of trees requires approval from the District Council before any changes can be made. If your property adjoins the Conservation Area it is also likely that the impact of any proposed change will be taken into account in determining a planning application.<\/p>
